Fall 2020 Kickoff
We hope that the school year has started off well for each of you and you are ready to start thinking about participating in Scouts this fall! We know that the last thing you want to add to your plate is another Zoom or Teams meeting so we are going to do our best to give you some new activities to do with your family while also having some socially distant outdoor Den activities, if possible. We wanted to give you a bit of an idea of what we have planned.
On September 29th, we will have a virtual information meeting for any NEW scout parents. If you are a new scout family in our area, this will be a great opportunity to learn more about our pack and the benefits of scouting for your student.
On October 6th, we will have our first virtual pack meeting. We don’t want to keep your scouts in front of the computer any longer than we have to, so our pack meetings this fall will be quick and will give them something to do after the pack meeting to share with everyone later. We ask that you make sure you join the Facebook group for Pack 631 if you haven’t already. You can find it at https://www.facebook.com/groups/pack631/. A couple of weeks before our first pack meeting, we’ll post an activity for you and your family to do and how you can share it with the rest of the pack.
Each Den Leader will work with your families to help you work through your scout’s requirements & share those results with the den in a variety of fun ways. We do hope that we can have occasional den meetings or activities that stay within the CDC Guidelines for safety and social distancing and also stay within our local and state regulations. We are working out the details of this now & hope to have more information at the pack meeting on October 6th.
While this year will look different in scouts just like it has in school and other areas of our lives, we hope we can provide you and your family with some new activities after having been home for so long. We also still hope to help you get outside a bit while helping your scouts grow as leaders. If you have questions, please reach out to us through our Facebook group linked above.
October Pack Meeting
On upcoming events it says the Pack Meeting is at 6 p.m. Unfortunately, that’s a mistake – the Pack Meeting is tonight at 7 p.m. We’re really sorry for any confusion!
September Pack Meeting
We will have our September Pack Meeting on Tuesday, September 25th at 7 p.m. in the Colony Bend Elementary Cafeteria. Scouts should wear their uniforms if they have them. If you are having any difficulties acquiring your uniform, please let us know.
Also upcoming is the New Scout Adventure Day for all new scouts who have just joined us. There will be a lot of fun activities to introduce them to scouting and give them a chance to launch their new scout rocket. It will take place September 29th at LDS Church in Sienna Plantation- 8333 Scanlan Trace Missouri City, TX 77459. You can learn more and register here.
We are excited to get our scouting year off to a great start!
Pack Rally Night is Coming!
Any families interested in becoming a part of Pack 631 are invited to attend our Pack Rally Night on Tuesday, August 28th at 7 p.m. in the Colony Bend Cafeteria. Pack 631 is open to elementary aged boys and girls. We will be able to share with you all of the fun activities we have planned for this year, and also answer any parent questions while the prospective Cub Scouts play games with Scouts and Venturers from area troops.
While the event is geared toward new scouts, we do encourage our current pack members to invite a friend to attend. If they attend and join our pack, current scouts will be eligible to receive a special Recruiter patch.
New Scout Registration
Attention new scouts: We will have information on a New Scout Rally night coming soon, but if you’d like to go ahead and register, you can do so at this link. We look forward to having you at Rally Night so you can learn more about the pack and get the year off to a great start. We will post the date and location information here very soon, so check back!
